To ensure you’re comfortable during the walk, please wear appropriate shoes and bring multiple layers as the forest can get quite cool. I’d also recommend to bring a day pack with water and some snacks and rain gear.

The closest public toilet facilities are located at Lake Okataina, a five minute drive from the outdoor education centre. However, there are plenty of ‘facilitrees’ around.

The forest bathing experience will take place at Te Auheke Trek at Lake Okataina Scenic Reserve, close to the Okataina Outdoor Education Centre. It is a 30 min drive from Rotorua and 1h from Tauranga and Whakatane.
